Full-Day Private Tour From Nice to Antibes, Cannes and Saint-Paul-de-Vence
Western Riviera private tour with chauffeur: Old Antibes, Picasso Museum, Cap d'Antibes, La Croisette in Cannes and Saint-Paul-de-Vence.
West of Nice, the French Riviera tells a different story: the ramparts of Old Antibes, the largest yachts of the Mediterranean in Port Vauban, the Picasso Museum at Château Grimaldi, the iconic Croisette in Cannes, and the medieval stone alleys of Saint-Paul-de-Vence. In a single full-day private tour with a chauffeur, these four destinations flow naturally along the coast and the backcountry, without any of the parking or traffic stress.
Why a full-day private tour is the best format
Antibes, Cannes and Saint-Paul-de-Vence can each justify a half-day on their own. Trying to fit all three with a rental car or public transport usually means missing the Picasso Museum, skipping the Cap d'Antibes coastal road, or arriving in Saint-Paul too late to enjoy the village in the soft afternoon light.
A private chauffeur tour removes every bottleneck: no parking search in Cannes during the festival season, no detours around Antibes' pedestrian old town, no fatigue on the winding road up to Saint-Paul-de-Vence. The day is built around your rhythm, with flexible stops and a single confirmed driver from morning to evening.
- Door-to-door pickup from Nice, Villefranche, Cap-Ferrat, Beaulieu or Monaco
- English, French and Italian-speaking chauffeur on request
- Luxury Mercedes sedan or Mercedes V-Class for up to 7 passengers
- Fully private: no sharing with other travelers
Full-day itinerary: Nice → Antibes → Cannes → Saint-Paul-de-Vence
The tour typically starts at 9:00 AM and ends around 6:00 PM. Pickup is available from any hotel on the Riviera, from a private villa, from Nice Côte d'Azur Airport (NCE) or from the cruise terminal of Villefranche-sur-Mer.
The route takes the coastal road toward Antibes, continues west to Cannes for lunch and shopping on La Croisette, then climbs into the backcountry to reach Saint-Paul-de-Vence before returning to Nice via the A8 motorway.

Stop 1 — Old Antibes, Port Vauban and the Picasso Museum
Old Antibes is one of the most authentic old towns on the French Riviera. The ramparts built by Vauban in the 17th century still protect the cobbled streets, the covered Marché Provençal and the pastel façades that inspired generations of painters.
A few steps away, Port Vauban is the largest yachting harbour in the Mediterranean, home to the famous Quai des Milliardaires where some of the world's most iconic superyachts are moored. The view from the ramparts over the port and the snow-capped Alps in the distance is one of the signature photographs of the Riviera.
Perched on the seafront, the Picasso Museum occupies the 14th-century Château Grimaldi, where Pablo Picasso worked for several months in 1946. It hosts a major collection of his paintings, ceramics and drawings from that period, along with works by Nicolas de Staël and other modern masters.
- Old Antibes ramparts and Marché Provençal (covered market)
- Port Vauban and Quai des Milliardaires superyacht viewpoint
- Picasso Museum at Château Grimaldi (approx. 1 to 1h30 visit)
- Cathedral Notre-Dame-de-la-Platea and old fishermen's quarter
Stop 2 — Cap d'Antibes panoramic drive
The Boulevard du Cap and the coastal road around the Cap d'Antibes peninsula form one of the most scenic drives in the South of France. The itinerary passes Eden-Roc, La Garoupe beach, the lighthouse of La Garoupe with its 360° panorama over the Riviera, and the exclusive Billionaires' Bay.
This section is done by car with short photo stops. Your chauffeur selects the best viewpoints depending on the light and the season, and can extend the drive with a walk along the Sentier du Littoral if you have time.
Stop 3 — Cannes, La Croisette and luxury shopping
Cannes is inseparable from its Film Festival, the red carpet of the Palais des Festivals and the Boulevard de la Croisette lined with palm trees, five-star hotels and designer boutiques. Walking along the promenade from the Palais to the Carlton Hôtel remains one of the most glamorous experiences of the French Riviera.
Lunch is usually served on a Croisette terrace or in one of the seafood restaurants near the Vieux Port. After lunch, Rue d'Antibes and the parallel streets host the full range of luxury brands — Chanel, Dior, Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Cartier — within walking distance of the Palais des Festivals.
Your chauffeur drops you directly at the beginning of La Croisette and picks you up at the agreed time and location, with no parking constraint.
- Palais des Festivals and the famous red-carpet steps
- Boulevard de la Croisette and iconic palaces (Carlton, Martinez, Majestic)
- Rue d'Antibes for luxury shopping and boutiques
- Le Suquet: old town of Cannes with panoramic view over the bay
Stop 4 — Saint-Paul-de-Vence, medieval village in the hills
Fifteen kilometers inland, Saint-Paul-de-Vence is one of the most iconic perched villages of the French Riviera. The 16th-century ramparts, the narrow cobbled streets and the art galleries on every corner have attracted artists for decades — Chagall, Matisse, Picasso, Léger and Prévert all left their mark here.
A walk through the village takes about one hour. Don't miss La Colombe d'Or, the legendary hotel-restaurant whose art collection was built by artists paying for their meals with paintings. Just outside the walls, the Fondation Maeght hosts one of the most important private collections of modern art in Europe — a recommended extra stop if time allows.
The return to Nice takes about 35 minutes via the A8 motorway, arriving just in time for sunset on the Promenade des Anglais.
- Saint-Paul-de-Vence ramparts and historic entrance gate
- Cobbled streets, art galleries and artisan workshops
- La Colombe d'Or: legendary hotel with an exceptional art collection
- Fondation Maeght: modern and contemporary art museum (optional)

Frequently asked questions
Is the Picasso Museum in Antibes worth visiting during a one-day tour?
Yes. The Picasso Museum at Château Grimaldi is compact enough to visit in one hour, and it is the only museum in the world dedicated to the Antibes period of Pablo Picasso. The combination of the collection and the Mediterranean view from the château makes it a signature stop of the western Riviera.
Can I visit Cannes during the Film Festival with a private driver?
Yes, but the itinerary needs to be adapted. During the Cannes Film Festival (usually mid-May), La Croisette is partly closed and access is restricted. A private chauffeur knows the alternative drop-off points and the best walking access to the Palais des Festivals and the luxury boutiques.
How much time is needed in Saint-Paul-de-Vence?
A walk through the medieval village takes around one hour. Add 30 minutes for a coffee or an aperitif at La Colombe d'Or, and 1h30 more if you want to visit the Fondation Maeght. Most clients stay between 1h30 and 2h30 on site.
Is the tour possible from Cannes, Monaco or a cruise ship in Villefranche?
Yes. The itinerary is fully flexible. Pickup and drop-off can be organized from any point on the Riviera, including Monaco, Cap-Ferrat, Cap d'Antibes or the cruise terminal of Villefranche-sur-Mer. The order of the stops is adapted accordingly.
Is this tour suitable for families with children?
Yes. The tour is fully private, with adapted vehicles and child seats available. The Cap d'Antibes drive, the Cannes beaches and the small streets of Saint-Paul-de-Vence are family-friendly, and the schedule can be shortened on request.
